Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before, during, and after your visit—crafted with care for your curls.

Q: How should I prepare for my appointment?

A: Arrive with your curls in their natural, dry, and unmanipulated state—this is the canvas your stylist will work with. Keep your hair down, loose, and free of ties or accessories so every curl can reveal its true pattern.

Avoid heavy products, oils, or gels that weigh down your hair. Lightweight styling or nothing at all is best, letting your curls move freely and naturally.

During your visit, be ready to share your curl goals and preferences. Your stylist may ask you to shake, flip, or gently move your curls—this helps them see how your hair behaves and ensure the cut enhances your unique texture.

Embrace the process, trust the expertise, and know that every step is designed to celebrate your curls and shape them for long-lasting beauty.

Q: What can I anticipate during a dry cut?

A: A dry cut allows your stylist to see your curls exactly as they are—each coil, wave, and spiral in its natural form. By shaping curls individually, your cut will feel balanced, intentional, and full of movement, enhancing your hair’s natural bounce and definition.

Unlike wet cutting, which can alter curl pattern and cause shrinkage, dry cutting ensures your curls remain true to their shape. Throughout the process, you’ll be invited to participate and provide feedback, helping your stylist make precise adjustments tailored to your unique texture.

Your session will also include a thoughtful consultation, where you can share your curl goals, discuss concerns, and explore personalized product recommendations designed specifically for your hair.

A dry cut is more than a haircut—it’s a celebration of your curls, a precise and personalized experience that leaves your hair looking and feeling its best.

Q: How do I care for my curly hair?

A: Healthy, vibrant curls start with a thoughtful routine tailored to your unique texture. Over-washing can strip natural oils and create dryness or frizz, so find a balance that keeps your hair nourished. Opt for gentle, sulfate-free cleansers that respect your curls’ natural rhythm.

Moisture is everything. Choose products formulated for curly hair that hydrate, protect, and enhance your curl pattern. Consistent care helps maintain elasticity, shine, and long-term health.

Styling should celebrate your natural movement. Minimize heat whenever possible—heat can disrupt curl shape and create frizz. Embrace techniques like plopping with a soft T-shirt or microfiber towel to define your curls, or diffuse on low heat to preserve bounce and shape.

Regular trims are essential. They remove split ends, prevent damage, and keep your curls looking full, lively, and intentional. Think of your routine as long-term curl care, not quick fixes—a practice that honors your hair’s natural beauty and resilience.
