I believe curls should be celebrated, not just managed.
My journey with curly hair started as a personal transformation. After years of relaxers, I made the bold decision to cut it all off and embrace my natural texture. That moment shifted how I saw my own beauty and set me on a path to help others reconnect with the power of their curls.
I graduated from Empire Beauty School in 2006 and became a licensed cosmetologist, working in a variety of salons before joining Devachan in 2014. There, I spent over two years in intensive training before becoming a stylist, mastering precision dry cutting and the signature Deva Cut method. But the biggest lesson I took away wasn’t just technical-it was personal. I learned that embracing your curls starts with confidence, and my mission has always been to help clients feel empowered, not dependent.
When Devachan closed in 2022, I took a leap of faith and opened Scissher, a salon created with curls at the center. Scissher is more than just a place to get a great cut. It’s a space where every curl type is seen, celebrated, and cared for with intention and love.
Beyond the salon chair, my work has been featured on the runways of New York Fashion Week, in partnerships with brands like Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, and through mentorship work with organizations like Covenant House. But the most meaningful part of my work will always be that moment when a client sees themselves differently. When they go from frustration to freedom, from uncertainty to deep self-love.
At Scissher, every appointment is personalized to your curl pattern, lifestyle, and goals. My intention is that you leave feeling seen, confident, and fully equipped to care for your hair on your own terms.
If you’re ready to fall in love with your curls, I’m here to help you every step of the way.
